I tasted Bard’s with someone (who we’ll call “E”) who isn’t a beer lover at all. I thought it would be a good idea to get an opinion from a neutral perspective, whereas other reviews I’ve done have been with dedicated beer lovers. Anyway, to the beer! To be honest, it isn’t my favourite. It doesn’t have much flavour and is a bit watery. E described it as “drinking beer cordial”. It has a faint taste of malt and is a bit bitter and what flavour there is, doesn’t really last. If it was super hot and you needed something cold to throw down, then one or two would hit the spot. Think Corona or a Peroni, not much going on in the flavour department, but great if super chilled. Would I seek it out especially? After tasting a fair few GF beers, to be honest I’d look at something else. But if I had been playing cricket all day or mowing the lawn in the blazing sun, then I wouldn’t say no to a couple.
Where to buy in Perth? As far as I know, I have only seen in Dan Murphy’s. But if anyone has seen it elsewhere, then let me know.
