“Welcome to Hank’s. Coffee, food, music and Hank”
In the before times, Hank’s Corner was a cool little local deli. You remember the ones where you could ride your sweet BMX down to and get 2c lollies, milk and the newspaper? Now with a little bit of love and elbow grease from Henry the owner, Hank’s Corner is now an awesome corner coffee shop, smashing out the finest coffee, tea and food for your belly.
The cafĂ© still maintains it’s original charm, with pictures from the areas past life hanging up and original signage and paintings on the walls. It’s warm and friendly and feels like you’ve just walked into your best friends house. There’s a lovely outside area with plenty of seating and good shade, and a little inside corner filled with toys and games to keep the smalls happy. And most importantly, they are big fans of your four-legged friends. So make sure to bring them in for a pat and a treat!
But what makes Hank’s extra special is their gluten free snacks and treats. They stock the drool-worthy AUNTY BARB’S sausage rolls. I’m not lying when I say that these are the best GF sossi rolls I’ve ever tasted. They also sell some amazing home made GF banana bread, brownies, lemon polenta drizzle cakes and raw balls too. There is also a range of Hank’s GF sauces in the fridge which are super yum. The GF foods have their own shelf and separate tongs are used to handle your treats, and most importantly the staff are super knowledgeable on cross-contamination and do everything they can to keep the food and prep spaces separate from their gluten containing items. Another thing I love is Hank’s dedication to keeping the store as environmentally friendly as possible. They use self composting takeaway coffee cups, recycle everything they can and encourage people to donate and use old forgotten coffee mugs. It’s a great little spot. So, if you’re in the area, pay Hank’s a visit, you’ll love it!
